Rom couldn’t help but watch Shu where he sat next to him, back against the glass of their balcony’s sliding doors. He held a cigarette in his hand, staring up at the distant stars in the sky.
When they first met, Rom had been struck by the way he played the piano. It was beautiful, something melancholic about the melody forcing him to stop and listen, not even noticing that he was late for work. The second he had called out to him, that fateful day, and Shu had stopped his playing, eyes turning toward him, he had been just as floored by how pretty he was.
Shu was probably the prettiest guy he’d ever laid eyes on.
It was a pity his personality was a complete 180 from his looks.
On the other hand, it was a bit funny, too. People didn’t expect his attitude when they first met him, jumping out of their skin when he started talking.
He’d finally gotten Shu to say yes to form a band with him, through relentless attempts at convincing him, and he was happy that he did, even though it felt like they spent more than half their time arguing.
Shu had a rotten personality. He didn’t know how to get along with most people, was quick to anger and even quicker to shut people down when they were just trying to be friendly. It was as endlessly frustrating as it was amusing, as long as it wasn’t aimed at him.
As he took a drag of his cigarette, Shu finally noticed him staring. “What?” he asked, scowl on his face.
Rom shook his head with a grin. “Just thinking.”
The look on Shu’s face was full of suspicion. “Right. Good luck with that.”
Had he not been in too good a mood, he would have been annoyed. But just this once, he’d let it slip.
The sky was too pretty to let anything get under his skin.
